Guernsey FC came from 5-1 down to win 7-6 at Shoreham in the highest-scoring game in club history.

Will Fazakerley gave Guernsey an early lead before the Green Lions conceded four goals in a 14-minute spell to trail 4-1.

Marlon Campbell levelled after 11 minutes before Dylan Walter headed the hosts ahead four minutes later.

Owen Waters made it 3-1 soon after before he got a second in the 24th minute of the Southern Combination Premier Division match.

Fin Patterson and Fazakerley went close for Guernsey before Campbell made it 5-1 with a fine individual goal in the 40th minute, although Charlton Gauvain gave the Green Lions hope with a calm finish four minutes later as the sides went into the interval at 5-2.

Guernsey started the second half well as Fazakerley had a 50th-minute effort tipped onto the post before Jacob Fallaize made it 5-3 from close range nine minutes later.

Guernsey were level within a further six minutes - first Fin du Port converted from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box before Sam Murray curled home an equaliser with 25 minutes to go.

But Shoreham hit back as Walter converted after a long ball over the top to make it 6-5 in the 70th minute, only for Gauvain to equalise once more two minutes later.

Record goalscorer Ross Allen - who scored six goals in their previous highest-scoring game - set up the winner with 12 minutes to go as his cutback from the left wing was converted by Murray.

The game broke Guernsey FC's previous record of 11 goals in a game which had happened three times in their history - most recently their club-record 11-0 win over Crawley Down Gatwick in January 2014.
