Crawley Town's sporting director Tobias Phoenix has left the club by mutual consent.

The former director of football operations at Bolton Wanderers joined Crawley during last season, when the Reds were relegated from League One.

He leaves just over two months after KB Sports and Leisure completed a takeover of the club, with Scott Lindsey's team currently 21st in League Two.

"Crawley Town Football Club can confirm that it has mutually agreed to part company with sporting director Tobias Phoenix," the club said in a statement.

"The club would like to place on record its thanks to Tobias for his commitment and efforts during his time at the Broadfield Stadium and wishes him the best for the future."

It is the latest change in a turbulent year for the Sussex club, after former co-owner Preston Johnson resigned in July over the club's transfer strategy.

The takeover was finalised 11 days later.

Crawley face Leyton Orient in the Vertu Trophy before hosting Walsall in League Two on Saturday.
