Crawley Town have appointed Erdem Konyar to be their new director of football.

Konyar previously held the role as the club's technical director between December 2020 and April 2022.

The position will see him work closely with first-team manager Scott Lindsey, the data intelligence team, and the ownership infrastructure, as well as to recruit "new, fresh talent" during transfer windows, the club confirmed.

In the same statement Konyar described serving Crawley Town as "an absolute honour".

"The badge is in my heart, and I thank the Chairman, CEO Tom Allman and Scott for the opportunity," he told the club website, external.

"Some of my best footballing memories have come at this club, and I look forward to making many more during my second spell."

Crawley Town owner Raphael Khalili said Konyar had previously shown "a deep commitment" to the club's values.

"Erdem has a strong connection with our supporters, and a genuine love for the badge.

"His passion for Crawley Town and everything this club represents has always been unmistakable."
