Thiago has 'successful surgery' on knee injury

Brentford have said their club-record signing Igor Thiago has had "successful surgery" on a knee injury and he is "expected to return towards the end of the year".

The Brazilian striker, 23, was hurt in the friendly win against AFC Wimbledon earlier this month.

Thiago joined the Bees for £30m from Belgian side Club Bruges.
