Hull City have completed the signing of defender Akin Famewo on a two-year deal, with the club having the option of a third year.

They have also brought in teenage winger Joel Ndala, 19, on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Famewo, 26, was a free agent, having seen his contract end at fellow Championship club Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season.

He had played 73 games across three seasons for the Owls and he was offered a new deal at Hillsborough, but he has decided that his future lies elsewhere.

Famewo is the latest departure in a chaotic period at the south Yorkshire club, which has culminated with the departure of head coach Danny Rohl earlier on Tuesday.

Famewo and Ndala are the fifth and sixth transfers of the close season for Hull as they prepare for the new season under Bosnian head coach Sergej Jakirovic.

"It's a proud day for me to sign here," Famewo told, external the club's website.

"This is a massive club with a great history and I'm looking forward to our future together.

"We talked about the plans for the club and what the club wants to achieve. They made it clear they wanted to bring me here and be a part of the club moving forward."

Ndala has had previous youth loans with PSV Eindhoven and Nottingham Forest.

His only senior football experience came in three games in the EFL Trophy for the Premier League club's Under-21 side.

Hull start their Championship campaign at Coventry City on 9 August.
