Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell says he is "amazed" neither Ilmari Niskanen nor Josh Magennis have been called up by their countries.
Finnish right-sided player Niskanen, 27, has won 24 caps for his country while Northern Ireland's Magennis, 35, has 82 caps.
Magennis scored twice in the 3-0 win over Peterborough United last week while Caldwell agreed with Niskanen's recent comments that he was in some of the best form of his career.
It means both players will be available for the Grecians as they travel to Rotherham United on Saturday aiming to improve on their three wins and three losses so far this season.
"I think Ilmari Niskanen has been playing outstanding since the start of the season," Caldwell told BBC Radio Devon.
"Josh Magennis again, for me, has been brilliant coming back from a long-term injury and has played superbly well, and obviously Saturday was the best of those performances.
"So I'm very surprised, but I'm delighted they're playing for Exeter on Saturday and not with their countries, and I'm pretty sure they'll be back playing for their countries soon."
