Truro City manager John Askey says his side "got away with it" as they drew 1-1 at AFC Totton in the FA Cup.

Despite missing a host of chances City looked to be going out at the fourth qualifying round stage after Tyler Cordner's 26th-minute goal.

Substitute Tyler Love-Holmes, who had only recently returned to Truro after a spell on loan at Plymouth Parkway, equalised in the 82nd minute as he headed home Will Dean's cross.

But Totton should have progressed to the first round after being awarded a penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time, only for Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to hit the bar from 12 yards.

The draw means the two sides will replay the tie in Cornwall on Tuesday evening.

"It probably had everything," Askey told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"Obviously I'm disappointed we've not got the win today, but we've stayed in the cup.

"At the end we've got that little bit of luck that we've probably not had all season, but it shouldn't have come down to luck really.

"First half it was all a bit strange with some of the decisions that were being made, and then we had a chance first half that should be in the back of the net and we're not taking them.

"I think we've had three, maybe four chances that we should score from.

"I thought second half we dominated the game and Tyler's come on and scored a great header, but we should have had more.

"We got away with it but we should have come away with a win really."
