Bradford City have signed experienced midfielder Nick Powell after Stockport County agreed to terminate his contract with them.

The former Manchester United, Wigan Athletic and Stoke City player made 45 appearances for County after joining them in the summer of 2023, helping them win promotion the following year.

He is Bradford's 10th signing of the summer transfer window as they look to consolidate their League One status, and they have taken seven points from three games so far.

"Nick's ability is undoubted and he is determined to rediscover the form he has shown many times previously," Bradford boss Graham Alexander told the club website, external.

"It is a deal that suits both parties, and we are looking forward to helping him enjoy his football and show his quality once more."

Powell added: "The crowd here is a massive draw, having such large attendances in League One is a massive pull for anyone."

Bradford are away to Stockport, who say the decision to let him leave was by mutual agreement, on Tuesday evening.

No details of his contract with Bradford have been disclosed by the club.
