Tranmere sign forward Solomon & midfielder Williams

Tranmere Rovers have signed forward Sol Solomon on a one-year contract after he left non-league side Marine as well as teenage midfielder Josh Williams on a two-year deal.

Solomon, 23, joins having helped Marine to promotion to National League North last season with a contribution of 24 goals.

Solomon previously played for Jersey Bulls, where he was their record goalscorer having scored 60 goals in 71 appearances.

Welshman Williams, 19, links up with Tranmere having left Welsh side Connah's Quay Nomads, where he made 69 appearances and played in the Europa League qualifiers.

“Tranmere’s a big club so I’m happy to be here. I’ve been to the ground a few times and watched a few games, seen the fans, and it was a no-brainer for me," Solomon told the club website.

“It’s a special moment for me and my family. It’s a lot of hard work, not just from me, but from my mum and dad behind the scenes.”

“I’ve got family and friends who are Tranmere fans so for it to be Tranmere, it’s a massive opportunity and a massive club, " Williams added.
