Burnley winger Anass Zaroury has joined French Ligue 1 side RC Lens for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

The Morocco international was a key figure in the Burnley side which won the Championship title in 2022-23, scoring 11 times in 39 games in all competitions.

The 23-year-old, who had been signed by then Clarets manager Vincent Kompany from Belgian club Charleroi, barely figured in the Premier League last season, playing just six times.

Sent off in his first Premier League appearance, against Manchester City, Zaroury was sent out on loan to Hull City during the January transfer window.

Zaroury appeared as a substitute in Burnley's first Championship game of this season, a 4-1 win at Luton Town, but was unwell for the Clarets' 5-0 victory over Cardiff City at the weekend.

He was called into the Morocco squad just before the 2022 World Cup and played in the third place play-off defeat by Croatia.
