Spurs did make an attempt to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan, but he instead opted to join Aston Villa, and they are not expected to do any further transfer business.
Manager Ange Postecoglou was hopeful of adding another defender, despite signing Kevin Danso from Lens just 24 hours earlier.
It follows widespread reports that Radu Dragusin is out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
There are no further signings in or out expected - aside from potentially some smaller deals involving academy players.
