Sheffield Wednesday have signed England international midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old ex-Chelsea man becomes the Owls' ninth signing of a busy summer transfer window, after he was released at the end of his contract by West Bromwich Albion last month.

Chalobah was a member of Chelsea's 2012 FA Youth Cup-winning team and after failing to nail down a place in the Premier League side's squad he went on to play for Watford and Fulham as well as loan spells at Napoli, Reading, Burnley, Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest.

His sole senior England cap came in 2018, when he replaced Harry Winks in stoppage time of the 3-2 Euro Nations League win in Spain.

Chalobah represented England at every junior level from under-16 to under-21 but was released by the Baggies despite making 46 appearances in his 18 months at The Hawthorns.
