Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate has joined Lyon on a permanent deal for a fee of £27m.

The 28-year-old joined Forest from Mainz 05 in 2022 having captained the German side and made 37 appearances, scoring once, in his two seasons at the City Ground.

While with Forest Niakhate made his debut for the Senegal national team and earned five caps for his country.

He joins ex-Forest team-mate Orel Mangala at the Groupama Stadium after the defender's loan was turned into a permanent move earlier this week.
