Charlton Athletic have signed Greg Docherty on a three-year deal.
The Scottish midfielder, 27, was a free agent, having recently been released by Hull City at the end of his contract.
Docherty, whose deal at The Valley includes the option of an additional year, won promotion to the Championship during his four-year spell at Hull, who signed him from Rangers in 2020.
“We’re really delighted to get this signing over the line. He’s someone we’ve been chasing for a long time, all through the summer," Charlton boss Nathan Jones told the League One club's website. , external
"He’s a player that has been promoted from this league and has been a Championship player for a long period of time. He has real pedigree as a person, an athlete and a player."
Docherty made 142 appearances for Hull. His career, which began at Hamilton, has also included spells on loan at Hibernian and Shrewsbury Town.
He is the third signing made by Charlton this week following the arrivals of Coventry City striker Matty Godden and Gassan Ahadme from Ipswich Town.
