Middlesbrough defender Alfie Jones hopes his experience in the Championship can have a "good impact" on his new side.

The 27-year-old was boss Rob Edwards' first signing, joining from Hull City in July on a four-year deal.

"Hopefully I can come in and have a good impact," Jones told BBC Radio Tees.

"Obviously I've played in the Championship for quite a few seasons now which has been good, so hopefully I can bring that extra bit of support for the lads.

"On the ball, I can get the lads playing and get the team moving up the pitch."
