Stoke winger Leris joins Italian side Pisa

Mehdi Leris scored twice in 18 Championship starts for Stoke last season

Algeria winger Mehdi Leris has completed a move from Stoke City to Italian Serie B side Pisa for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old moved to the bet365 Stadium last summer from Sampdoria on a three-year deal but struggled for game time in the second half of the season.

"While we tried to convince him to stay, Mehdi ultimately decided that he wanted to pursue a new opportunity," sporting director Jonathan Walters told the Potters' club website.

Leris scored twice in 18 Championship starts for Stoke and has four caps for the Algerian national team.
