Huddersfield have won the race to sign forward Freddie Ladapo after his release by Ipswich.
Following the Tractor Boys' promotion to the Premier League, the 31-year-old saw his deal at Portman Road terminated on transfer deadline day.
Ladapo has signed a two-year deal with the Terriers, who beat several other clubs to his signature.
The frontman has won four promotions in the past five seasons, three of them from League One.
“I’m really happy to be here and excited to get started and contribute to the challenge ahead," he told the club website, external.
“The size and ambition of the club is really appealing to me and reminds me of joining Ipswich in the same league.
"I know this division and what it takes to get out of it - and I love that we haven’t been shy about admitting that’s exactly what our collective ambition is."
Ladapo began his professional career at Colchester and after a nine-club stay in non-league, which finished with a prolific spell at Margate, he was signed by Crystal Palace after a trial, making his Eagles debut in a Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2017.
He moved to Southend before scoring 19 goals for Plymouth in 2018-19, earning a club-record move to Rotherham where he went on to score 41 goals in three seasons, securing automatic promotion to the Championship twice and also lifting the EFL Trophy.
He joined Ipswich ahead of the 2022-23 campaign and scored 17 league goals as the Tractor Boys secured a return to the Championship.
He scored four goals in 22 appearances, mostly off the bench, as Ipswich won promotion to the top flight last season but spent the end of the campaign on loan at Charlton, making 14 appearances.
After a full pre-season with Ipswich, the striker, who will wear number 19, goes straight into the Huddersfield squad for the League One trip to Bolton on Saturday.
