Why Postecoglou went too far with Werner criticism

And here are some fans who think Postecoglou overstepped with his criticism.

Sean: I don't think it matters anymore what Ange says. It's not working, he says he won't change and he won't be there long.

Tony: Postecoglou has, rightly, previously refrained from publicly shaming his underperforming players - and there have been plenty this season - and doing so now, particularly singling one out when there were others equally bad is unfair and not a good look. We've seen this with Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte before him and we know where it leads, which doesn't bode well for Postecoglou himself. Unless he publicly apologises for this aberration, he risks losing the dressing room and his job.

David: Rightly or wrongly, once you criticise player in public you are one step away from losing the dressing room. Also, imagine if Werner came out after the game and said that Postecoglou wasn't good enough today. Would he accept that as an assessment or feedback?

Derek: Ange is clearly out of his depth. He doesn't play Maddison enough, is constantly chopping and changing the team and he can't close out a game!

Ben: There's a bit of sophistry going on here. He openly singled out a player in public. That's not really helpful and it's not really Postecoglou's style either to be fair. He was rattled a bit last night and lashed out a bit. Now he doesn't want to take it back because of how he thinks it would look.

Daniel: Publicly criticising Werner after specifically saying he would never criticise a player publicly two days ago after Cristian Romero criticised the board! This seems like more than a coincidence and like a manager clutching at straws because he's under heavy pressure.
