Burton Albion have signed forward Jake Beesley from League One rivals Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old leaves the Seasiders for the Brewers less than two months after he had a contract extension triggered at Bloomfield Road.

Beesley, who is the son of former Blackpool defender Paul Beesley, moves to the Pirelli Stadium on a two-year deal, with an option of a further 12 months.

The former Rochdale, Salford City and Solihull Moors forward, who started his career with Chesterfield, scored 16 goals in 77 Blackpool appearances.

Burton boss Gary Bowyer described Beesley as a player with "great physical presence and real intelligence".

"He'll bring experience, goals, and hunger to the team, and we're excited to see what he can add to our attacking options," Bowyer told Burton's website., external
