Lincoln City will have to play the final five games of the season without injured midfield duo Dom Jefferies and Jovon Makama.
Makama, 21, has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Jefferies is to have an operation to repair an ongoing hip issue.
The 22-year-old Welshman will also miss all of pre-season and the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
Jefferies has made 43 appearances this season, scoring three times, while Makama has notched 11 goals from 45 games.
Makama suffered his injury 25 minutes into Saturday's 2-2 draw at Charlton Athletic, being replaced by Jefferies, who then himself went off six minutes from time.
Going into Saturday's home game with doomed bottom club Shrewsbury Town, now managed by former Imps boss Michael Appleton, mid-table Lincoln sit 11th in League One, 14 points off a play-off place and 15 points clear of trouble.
