Chesterfield have signed experienced midfielder John Fleck until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old former Rangers and Sheffield United man was a free agent after leaving Blackburn at the end of last season.
He joined Rovers from the Blades but suffered a shin injury 17 minutes into the derby clash with Preston on his debut in February which required surgery.
Fleck told the Spireites website, external: “I’m delighted. I’ve been training here for just over a week and the opportunity has come up to sign until the end of the season so I’m really happy.”
Glasgow-born Fleck played more than 50 games for Rangers before a short spell with Blackpool but went on to play 182 times for Coventry.
The Scotland international, who won five caps, then spent seven years at Bramall Lane, teeing up 48 goals and scoring 16 of his own in 278 games, during which he helped the Blades from League One to the Premier League.
“It’s been great to just get back in amongst the training group so I’m really looking forward to it,” he added.
