Sheffield United have landed their second defensive recruit of the day with the signing of Nils Zatterstrom from Malmo.

Following Ben Godfrey's loan capture from Atalanta, the Blades have sealed a four-year deal for Swedish prospect Zatterstrom for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old won his first senior Sweden cap last year and has also played in the Champions League with Malmo, who he had been with since he was eight.

Zatterstrom has played 12 games since April during the Swedish season and hopes to make an immediate impact at Bramall Lane.

"I'm looking forward to getting started," he told the United website, external. "The Swedish season started in January with European games so I'm ready to go.

"I like to step up high, be aggressive and win the ball. In possession, I like to drive up the pitch.

"Sheffield United is an old football club with a long football history. I can't wait to play at Bramall Lane."

Zatterstrom will wear the number 21 shirt at United, who have sold Peruvian winger Jefferson Caceres to Scottish side Dunfermline to free up a spot on their work permit exemption list because the Swede does not qualify.
