Notts County defender Lewis Macari has been charged by the Football Association with breaching betting rules over the course of almost three years.
The 23-year-old is alleged to have placed 354 bets on matches between 25 February 2020 and 4 December 2022.
The timeframe covered predates his move to Notts County from Stoke City.
Macari was on the books as a youth player at Stoke when he was alleged to have placed the bets.
He also had a loan spell with Dundalk in the League of Ireland during that time.
The Scottish defender, who is the grandson of former Manchester United midfielder and Stoke boss Lou Macari, has until 18 July to respond to the charges.
"We will be supporting Lewis and his representatives throughout the investigation process and will be making no further comment at this stage," Notts County said in a statement, external.
