Hartlepool United say their search for a new manager is "ongoing" more than a month after Simon Grayson left the club.

Grayson departed on 12 October, during which time interim boss Nicky Featherstone has taken charge of six matches.

The next appointment would be Pools' ninth permanent manager since June 2022 and as a result, the club say they are taking their time in order to find the right candidate.

In a statement, they said, external: "The Board has been conducting a thorough and structured review of prior appointments alongside the immediate search for the new manager.

"The Board recognises the critical significance of this next appointment, both in terms of fulfilling ambition but also providing permanency.

"Some excellent candidates have applied but for a number of reasons the process remains ongoing at this time."

Hartlepool are 10th in the National League, five points outside the play-off spots.
