Peterborough United have made their first signing of the summer after agreeing a deal to bring in Braintree forward Kyrell Lisbie.

The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract, which includes the option of an additional year.

Lisbie scored 13 goals for National League Braintree this season, having joined them from eighth-tier Cray Valley Paper Mills last summer.

It was during Cray Valley's run to the FA Cup first round in November 2023 that Lisbie came to prominence, scoring a penalty in their eventual 6-1 defeat in a replay against Charlton.

"Kyrell is a player that we have kept an eye on for the last few months," Posh boss Darren Ferguson said.

"We have had some very impressive reports on him as well and we are pleased to get the deal done.

"He can play in different positions along the front line so that gives us good flexibility and I am looking forward to working with him."

Lisbie, whose identical twin brother Kyreece plays for Colchester United, is the son of former Charlton and Jamaica striker Kevin Lisbie.

"I feel that this is the right time to make the move," he said.

"I enjoyed my time at Braintree, but the chance to play in the EFL is something that really excites me."
