Former Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough has announced he has started a new role as National League side Fylde's director of football.

Baraclough spent two years as Northern Ireland boss but was sacked by the Irish FA in October 2022 after winning just six of his 28 games in charge.

He also recently had a spell as Cheltenham Town assistant manager but left at the end of last season.

"I'm happy to share that I have started a new position as director of football at AFC Fylde," Baraclough wrote on social media.

"Joined late in November, plenty to do, but looking forward to working hard with the owner, staff and players to have a positive second half of the season."

Fylde, who are 18th in the National League, appointed former England and Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips as their new head coach in October.
