There was tension aplenty in the stands and no shortage of goals on the pitch in the final round of pre-split Scottish Premiership fixtures.

A goalless draw between Motherwell and Hearts allowed St Mirren to snatch the final available spot in the top six, as Stephen Robinson's team beat Ross County 3-2 in Paisley.

There were also wins for Celtic, who swept aside Kilmarnock 5-1, and Dundee United, who edged past the league's bottom side St Johnstone thanks to Emmanuel Adegboyega's goal.

On Sunday, Ianis Hagi's last-gasp strike helped Rangers come from 2-0 down to take a point at Aberdeen and kept rivals Celtic waiting to be crowned champions, while Hibernian swept aside Dundee to extend their unbeaten run to 17 matches.

We asked for your views on the action-packed weekend and here are the best of them.

'Dire' Hearts & 'poor' Motherwell contrast with 'amazing' St Mirren achievement

St Mirren players and staff celebrated with the home fans after their win over Ross County

Motherwell fans saw few reasons to be positive after they failed to have a shot on target against Hearts.

Robert: A really poor performance again. Is this the best we've got? I'm scunnered with nervy performances - we were the home side! Fortunately, Hearts were very poor too or we'd have been on to a hiding. The rest of the season terrifies me.

James: With so much at stake and a good crowd watching to have zero shots on target was pathetic. I am starting to have my fears we do not have the right manager at the club but we have to give him time. I think we need an overhaul of the recruitment team for next season.

Adam: The outcome was to be expected with the players the manager had to choose from. Hopefully they will relish the opportunity to show what they can do to avoid being in the relegation play-off.

Kevin: Survival is the name of the game. Then its wholesale changes required. Not an enviable task.

Hearts fans questioned head coach Neil Critchley after a bottom-half finish was confirmed at Fir Park.

Tom: We got what we deserved. We don't have any inspiration or creativity on the park and there does not seem to be any motivation from the management team. No fire in the bellies and strange substitutions have been the story of this campaign.

Rob: We're just treading water. Neil Critchley took us off the bottom, but not by much. Some of the personnel decision-making is baffling. We'll be lucky if we don't get sucked down into a relegation dogfight.

Robert: I said a couple of months ago I was eating humble pie. First, congratulations to the Saints, they deserve it, they attacked and scored unlike Hearts. We are a bit of a laughing stock. If Hearts lose to Aberdeen next week then it's curtains for Critchley.

Ken: Dire football for months with terrible signings. The fans deserve better. The board and the manager are culpable. Critchley picked the most negative team and he can't win big or pressure games.

Meanwhile, St Mirren fans were thrilled by a third successive season in the top six.

Alistair: What an amazing achievement for a club with the budget we have. We've punched above our weight for the third year running. We went through the wringer during the game, but it was worth it in the end. Top six, baby!

Douglas: I was there. Wonderful. As Stephen Robinson says often, these players fight to the 95th minute, and this was proved again. Caolan Boyd-Munce had a great game along with Marcus Fraser, but they all played their part in a wonderful game and season. Robinson is brilliant.

Eric: Robinson once again showed he is one of the best tacticians in the Scottish Premiership.

Pauline: This season has been a rollercoaster, but now we can play the last five games without looking over our shoulder. While Robinson and his team can get on with building for next season.

Steven: I think St Mirren definitely deserved the three points. It was a great game to watch end-to-end stuff. So pleased for St Mirren to finish in sixth place is well deserved. All credit to Robinson and all the backroom staff, really everyone connected with St Mirren. Well done once again.

'Puzzling' subs cost Aberdeen while Rangers fans pleased with a point

Aberdeen fans were left to bemoan tactical tweaks as they dropped two points against Rangers.

Malky: It is absolutely criminal to have a two-goal advantage against 10 men at home at half-time and fail to go on and win the game. We should have been out of sight and there were lots of positives, but baffling substitutions and that frail mindset of holding on as opposed to going for the jugular came back to bite us.

James: The manager must carry the blame for this display. Shayden Morris was giving the Rangers defence a hard time before being replaced. Kevin Nisbet is not the answer to our goal scorer question, as he missed two easy chances that would have killed the game.

Niall: After such a dominant first half, the Dons should have been out of sight. Why did Jimmy Thelin take Morris off? No penetration down the right thereafter, then an early goal for Rangers in the second half and some really poor defending has led to another two precious points gone. A real game of two halves for the Dons, but just typical of the form this season. Really disappointing.

Douglas: Sizzling first half, slack second. Thelin's right, we didn't aggressively use the extra space, but the puzzling substitution of Morris was partly responsible. Still looking for a 90-minute performance.

Rangers fans felt Barry Ferguson was correct to make changes for the game at Pittodrie with the second leg of their Europa League tie against Athletic Bilbao looming.

Frazer: Some Rangers fans might be feeling peeved at the moment, but from what I've seen, I'd give Barry Ferguson a chance next season. You can't fault his game management. Conceding goals is an issue at the moment, but Pittodrie is not an easy place to come back from 2-0 down, let alone with 10 men. We'd be naive to think another manager could have done much better with this team over the last few weeks.

Andy: Ferguson did the right thing. The league is over, only the Europa League is left for some pride this season. Rangers showed some grit and a never-give-in attitude. It's looking better for Barry, can we deliver?

Kyle: It was like a game of two halves when we were 2-0 down at half time. I thought the game was gone, but the second half was better than the first half. Glad with a draw. The whole team was poor until the 85th minute, and we looked lively then, but overall, we were poor.

James: Understand the changes, but these guys really let the staff down. I wouldn't pay £5 for Danillo, let alone £5m. I thought Cyriel Dessers was bad, but this guy just took his unwanted title. McCausland is another I wouldn't even play for the reserves, and Robin Propper is awful. They need a complete overhaul of the squad, as they really aren't good enough, and some should never play again.

Delight for Celtic, Hibs & United

Celtic fans were pleased with aspects of their performance against Kilmarnock, especially Greg Taylor's display.

Benny: Much more like the Celtic we know in that superb first 45. Movement, passing, hunger and intensity were abundant as Killie were blown away in a fast and furious 25-minute spell.

Never quite reached the same levels in the second half, but overall got to be happy with the performance and quality of some of the goals. Greg Taylor was outstanding and will be a big miss if he does go at the end of the season.

Neil: Brendan Rodgers got the changes spot on. First half we were unplayable. Great response to last week's blip. A message to Taylor: stay and challenge Kieran Tierney for the left-back position! Now let's focus on the semi-final and keep the treble dream alive.

Hugh: A real 'Jekyll and Hyde' performance. in the first half, we had pace, creativity, passion and goals and in the second half, we watched the ball being passed to death. It was dull and dreary. The two halves summed up our lack of consistency since January, when things work, brilliant, but when they don't, there's no Plan B.

Patrick: The stats speak for themselves. One of those days where anyone could score - and did! This match is what the players need to remember to avoid inconsistent results.

Dundee United were full of praise for manager Jim Goodwin as they secured their third successive 1-0 win.

Jim: Nine points and only three goals scored. Clean sheets are us! Jim Goodwin has to be the manager of the year.

Richard: We've exceeded expectations this season, and I get it that it's all about results these days, but we are a real dire watch. Hoping Goodwin can recruit some players with creativity in the summer and get away from this long-ball rubbish that's been served up.

John: Another good shift, another 1-0 win. We'll take that. Sam Cleall-Harding is a young David Narey. He was class. Europe is within our grasp. Get those contracts sorted, Jim. Keep this team together.

Wayne: Great season for the boys and the brilliant fans. Keep up the great work Jim.

Hibs made it 17 matches unbeaten in the league and their fans were understandably delighted with the performance.

Stephen: From absolutely berating this team at the beginning of the season, now I am almost lost for words - an absolutely amazing turnaround. I couldn't ask for any more, well done Hibs.

Gordon: Again, well done Hibs. Another solid, confident and dominant display. Congratulations again to David Gray and his players for keeping this amazing unbeaten run going.

Scott: Hibs' work rate without the ball now is unrecognisable as they hunt in packs and bully teams into giving up possession. Not only that, but they play really attractive attacking football, all quite unrecognisable from a few months ago. Keeping Kieron Bowie fit over the next few weeks will be key to Hibs' final finishing position.

Sandy: We must be running out of superlatives for this Hibs team. What a near-perfect performance and a great game to watch. It could easily have been more than 4-0, but the standout was the glimpse of Bowie's natural footballing skills. I believe he's going to be absolutely one of the greats for Hibs and Scotland. Onwards and upwards.

Despair for relegation-threatened Dundee, Saints & Killie

Dundee supporters criticised manger Tony Docherty after a heavy loss at Easter Road.

Danny: A gutless and shameful performance when much more was required against this good Hibs team. Our defending continues to be all over the place, with huge gaps left in our final third. Tony Docherty is totally incapable, after two seasons in charge, of addressing the issue.

Mark: Shambles from start to finish. Every goal was avoidable and made life too easy for Hibs. Need to get back to the performances from the previous few games, or St Johnstone might just catch us.

John: Dundee shouldn't take it for granted that St Johnstone won't catch them. Docherty is again saying we need to learn from defensive mistakes, he's been saying that all season.

Jimmy: How many lessons are we needing to learn? Another abysmal performance just when we thought things were on the turn. Our only saving grace is that the Saints are just as bad. Three wins in the last five games should hopefully do the trick.

Alan: Docherty needs a reality check. Our midfield has been lightweight all season, a glaring weakness which has never been addressed, and our defending is ridiculously poor. My crystal ball says a play-off with Livingston beckons!

St Johnstone fans saw fight in their defeat, but are far from optimistic about their survival hopes.

Jimmy: A mistake led to the goal. Dundee United are a better team than us. We gave it a very good go and had our chances, and on any other day one or two would have led to a goal. Can't say we didn't try. I still have faith that we can climb up a spot or two.

Daniel: Not been the same since the three games in seven days at the end of February, a tiredness has ended the momentum. Need to win three at least, and I don't know if the energy is still there. Think time is up for us this time.

Glenshee: Despite the manager's comments, the players in the squad are not quite good enough to survive. They work hard to compete but make mistakes under pressure too easily. Every other team knows this and presses hard, getting several clear-cut chances each match as a result of our errors.

Some Kilmarnock fans were able to take positives away from Celtic Park.

Dugald: Same story. No shape. No strategy. Derek McInnes always seems to be found wanting for a clear idea of what type of formation he wants and fails to convey one to his (limited ability) players.

Amy: Always on a hiding to nothing against a Celtic side looking for a response. Couple of unstoppable goals, but we can take heart from most of the second-half performance. Most importantly, though, none of our rivals at the bottom gained any ground on us. Fancy us to win enough post-split to be safe.

Anna: That was the most abject, gutless performance I've ever seen as a Killie fan. We just rolled over and lay down before Celtic. One up front does not work, and neither does replacing a midfielder with a defender when we needed goals. I may be wrong, but it seems like McInnes is doing his best to get us relegated. At this rate, we'll be lucky to avoid 11th and now having Hearts and Motherwell in the bottom six things have got that much tougher.

Robert: This was never going to be a win. The problem is the goal difference. We have five games to go. Time to look upon them as a new league campaign we wish to win.
