Ipswich Town goalkeeper Arijanet Muric has joined Italian Serie A club Sassuolo on a season-long loan.

The 26-year-old made 18 appearances for Town last season during their one-year stay in the Premier League after moving from Burnley last summer for an initial £10m.

Muric was eventually displaced as Town's number-one choice during the second half of last season by Alex Palmer, who was signed from West Bromwich Albion in January, and missed the final 11 league matches with a shoulder injury.

Kosovo international Muric began his senior career at Manchester City, where he made five appearances in the club's Carabao-Cup winning campaign in 2018-19 but was dropped for the final by Pep Guardiola in favour of first-choice keeper Ederson.

After several loan including spells with Nottingham Forest and in the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey, Muric signed for Burnley ahead of their successful Premier-League promotion campaign in 2022-23.
