Young Middlesbrough defender George McCormick has signed a new contract to stay at the Riverside until 2027.

McCormick, 19, made his first-team debut away to Leeds United in the Carabao Cup in August.

He has since played twice more, including his Championship debut as a substitute in the recent win at West Bromwich Albion.

"There's no better feeling and hopefully there’s more to come, but it's up to me to kick on and make sure that happens through hard work," he told the Boro website, external.
