Coventry City goalkeeper Brad Collins has returned to Burton Albion on loan for the season.

The 28-year-old had been demoted to third-choice for the Sky Blues after the arrival of Brighton and Hove Albion's Carl Rushworth on loan, with first-choice Oliver Dovin out with a long-term knee injury.

Collins spent the 2018-19 season on loan with the Brewers from Chelsea, keeping 12 clean sheets in 35 appearances and helping them reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Collins, who won the Uefa Youth League and FA Youth Cup with Chelsea, has a wealth of league experience, joining Barnsley in 2019 after loan spells at Forest Green Rovers and Burton.

He left Barnsley, where he was named as the club's player of the year in 2021-22, to join Coventry, for whom he has made 46 appearances over two seasons.

Burton head coach Gary Bowyer told the club website:, external "From the very first moment that Max [Crocombe] left, it was always the plan to get an experienced goalkeeper into the building.

"Brad's an experienced goalkeeper who has played at such a high level, he's been here before so he knows what it's about and it's a real opportunity for him to get back playing."
