Derby County academy manager Matt Hale believes the club's methods for improving young players' personal development prepares them for successful senior careers.

Derby County's academy is classified as category one, the highest level in England under the Elite Player Performance Plan.

"We've been concentrating on a particular game model which we think befits Premier League, Championship levels," he told BBC Radio Derby.

"We can make a success out of some of our lads that's for sure."

Hale says it's also important for academy players to be the future of Derby County as it strives for success.

"The purpose is to replicate what the gaffer needs and wants at Championship and Premier League level," he said.

"We produce fine young men here as well as fine footballers."

Chelsea's Liam Delap, Leeds United's Jayden Bogle and Middlesbrough's Morgan Whittaker are some of the most notable players to come from Derby County's academy currently in the game.
