Anything possible Wrexham getting 'better all the time'

Phil Parkinson believes Wrexham are continuing to improve in the Championship after earning their best victory of the campaign against leaders Coventry City last time out.

The Red Dragons secured back-to-back home league wins for the first time this season with a 3-2 triumph over Frank Lampard's side - ending the Sky Blues' unbeaten Championship start in the process.

And the 57-year-old hailed the Stok Cae Ras atmosphere - stating it was as good as it has been during his tenure as manager.

"I think the atmosphere was up there with one of the best we've had for a long time," said Parkinson.

"Everyone played their part, it was a good night but now we're ready to move on."

Following victory over Coventry, co-owner Rob McElhenney took to social media to reveal he held positive talks with Parkinson about the atmosphere at the club.

"Having spoken to Phil and a lot of the players it's abundantly clear that the support they received against Coventry made a massive difference," the American wrote on X.

"It's hard to be that loud and positive, every game for 90+ min over an entire season.

"But I thought it worth mentioning that when the Racecourse is rocking, anything is possible. This is your team.

"We're all invited and honoured to be a part of it. Support them in whatever way brings you joy but know that for sure, you are making a difference in their success. Thank you!"

And having seen his side take seven points from the last nine on offer, Parkinson hopes Wrexham can continue to be consistent as they look to improve on their recent positive record.

"We've got to keep producing the consistency levels with and without the ball. Both sides of the game have got to be in place to get wins at any level of football," Parkinson added.

"But all in all, I feel we're a team that's getting better all the time."

Wrexham sit 15th in the table and are just five points adrift of the top six ahead of their remaining two games before the international break against Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic.

John Mousinho's Pompey have won just one of their last nine league matches and go into the contest with Wrexham having lost three games in a row.

But Parkinson has urged his players to be wary of Portsmouth after Saturday's 4-0 loss to Birmingham City.

"We've got to make sure that the energy, commitment and winning the regains all over the pitch which was such an important part of the performance (against Coventry) is in place again," he said.

"We've had a good chat with the lads who earned a nice weekend off, we've had a decent couple of days of training, we've gone through the team shape today and I feel the lads are ready."
