Danny Ward and Jay Rodriguez are among the absentees from Wrexham's updated 2025-26 English Football League (EFL) squad - with Phil Parkinson opting to fill 24 players from the possible 25-man quota.

Following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, EFL sides must submit squads of up to 25 players who are aged 21 and older in the squad - including goalkeepers and outfield players. Players born on or after 1 January, 2004 - such as academy product Harry Ashfield - are automatically eligible.

But fresh from the news of his elbow injury sustained in a 2-0 win at Millwall last weekend, summer signing and Wales international Ward has not been included.

The goalkeeper's fellow summer arrivals Kieffer Moore, George Thomason, Josh Windass, Ben Sheaf, Lewis O'Brien, Issa Kaboré, Callum Doyle, Ryan Hardie, Dominic Hyam, Conor Coady, Liberato Cacace and Nathan Broadhead are all included.

Central defender Eoghan O'Connell - who played a part in each of Wrexham's three successive promotions since the takeover by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2021 - was not included and has since left the club by mutual consent.

Injured stars Jay Rodriguez, Ollie Rathbone and Andy Cannon also miss out.

A Wrexham statement read: "We have opted to initially name 24 players at this stage, providing us with the option to add a further name as needed."

The 24-man list is as follows:

Ryan Barnett, Nathan Broadhead, Lewis Brunt, Callum Burton, Liberato Cacace, Max Cleworth, Conor Coady, George Dobson, Callum Doyle, Ryan Hardie, Dominic Hyam, Matty James, Issa Kaboré, Elliot Lee, Ryan Longman, James McClean, Kieffer Moore, Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis O'Brien, Dan Scarr, Ben Sheaf, Sam Smith, George Thomason and Josh Windass.
