Stoke City have signed Leicester City striker Tom Cannon on a season-long loan deal and Japanese midfielder Tatsuki Seko for an undisclosed fee to take their total of summer transfer window signings to 10.

Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters said: “It’s no exaggeration to say that most clubs in the Championship wanted to sign Tom this summer.

"It’s a huge vote of confidence that he has opted for Stoke City. His arrival is testament to his faith in the squad we are building and in the way he believes we can develop him as a footballer."

Seko, 26, has joined from Japanese outfit Kawasaki Frontale on a three -year contract.

“Having brought in a player from the other side of the world, I believe we have a culture within our club that will help him settle quickly," said Walters. "I know our supporters will join me in making him feel part of the Stoke City family.”

Cannon, 21, who joined Leicester last September, scored three times in 16 appearances last season after his arrival from Everton.

He also netted eight goals in 20 games on loan at Preston North End in the second half of the 2022-23 campaign.

Seko made 93 appearances for his Japanese club, winning domestic cup competitions on two occasions.

Stoke have started the Championship season with one win from three games under boss Steven Schumacher - but they are through to the third round of the League Cup.
