Rotherham sign triallist Holmes on one-year deal

Rotherham have signed Jack Holmes on an initial one-year deal following a trial period at New York Stadium.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who can play in a wide or central role, featured against the Millers for seventh-tier side Stamford AFC earlier in pre-season after joining them last month.

The South Yorkshire club have a further year's option on Holmes, who has previously played for Halesowen and Hereford.

Rotherham boss Steve Evans told the club website:, external "Young Jack is now a very live project for us. You can do no more than be deserving of a chance."
