Charlton Athletic have brought in defender James Bree on loan from Championship rivals Southampton.
The 27-year-old, who has joined on loan until January, made 17 Premier League appearances for the Saints last season.
After starting his career with Barnsley, Bree joined Aston Villa in 2017 and then moved to Luton in 2020 after loans spells with Ipswich and the Hatters.
Bree played 142 times for the Hatters before earning a £750,000 move to Southampton in January 2023 and joins forces again with his former boss at Nathan Jones.
"I signed him at Luton and he did wonderfully, and I bought him at Southampton to play in the Premier League. He's someone I have real faith in," Jones told the club website., external
"It's a real coup to get a player of his quality, athleticism and pedigree. The signing of James finishes off a wonderful window where we have added real quality to the squad."
