Newtown 4-1 Aberystwyth Town: A Jason Oswell brace helped get Newtown off to a flyer in the Cymru Premier’s opening game of the new season at Latham Park.

David Evans had given Aber the lead moments before half-time, but they were taken apart in the second half as Callum Roberts and Josh Lock also found the net for the home side.

Barry Town United 1-1 Bala Town: It finished honours even between two sides meeting on the opening day of the season for the second successive year. Oliver Hulbert gave Barry an early lead but George Newell's second-half penalty rescued a point.

Flint Town United 1-2 Cardiff Met: Met came from behind to spoil Flint's return to the Cymru Premier. Josh Jones struck after just nine minutes to give the home side the lead, only for Dixon Kabongo to soon equalise and then Sam Jones completed Met's comeback in the second half.

Connah’s Quay Nomads 0-1 Haverfordwest County: It was a disappointing home defeat on the opening day for Welsh Cup winners Connah’s Quay. The first half ended goalless with the best chance falling to the Bluebirds' Ben Ahmun, whose header was just inches wide. But Ahmun had no trouble finding the target when the visitors were awarded a penalty after Harri John drew a foul in the box. Nomads pressed for an equaliser, with Lifumpa Mwandwe and Rhys Hughes coming close, but it was Haverfordwest's day at the Essity Stadium.

Briton Ferry Llansawel 0-2 Penybont: Briton Ferry Llansawel were bearen on their debut in the JD Cymru as two goals from debutant James Crole gave Penybont victory at Old Road. Andy Dyer’s side were winners of last season’s JD Cymru South title, but former Cardff City youngster Crole struck twice late in the first half to condemn them to an opening-weekend defeat.
