Port Vale manager Darren Moore says having fit-again goalkeeper Ben Amos back is "really pleasing" and his "safe" performance in the Vertu Trophy win at Accrington has given him food for thought before Saturday's League One game at AFC Wimbledon.
Amos made his first appearance of the season as Moore made 10 changes to Vale's line-up at the Wham Stadium and kept a clean sheet as the visitors made it two wins out of two in the competition with a 2-0 victory.
"I'm really pleased to have Ben back," Moore told BBC Radio Stoke.
"His game was safe, everything he did was safe, he pulled off two wonderful saves and got a clean sheet.
"He's been working extremely hard - we saw his heroics last season - and obviously he got his injury which has kept him out for some time.
"I just felt looking at him in the week it was right to give him a run out and what a performance."

Amos, 35, missed Vale's pre-season with a muscle injury after playing a key part in the second half of the club's successful promotion campaign last season.
Aston Villa's Joe Gauci was brought in on loan as cover and has become the first-choice keeper over another summer recruit, Marko Marosi.
Moore says Amos' return has given him something to think about as Vale extended their solid run of form to only one defeat - by Arsenal in the Carabao Cup - in their past six matches.
"Yeah, which is what you want [competition]," he said. "You're thinking of the game at the weekend and the boys that have performed.
"It's always nice when players come in. Yes, we made 10 changes and left players behind and for the group to perform like that it's been good.
"It's a win and keeps the feel-good factor going, it's really good for momentum and the mental psychology of it."
