Managerless Barnsley have released five players, including striker Devante Cole.
The 29-year-old, son of Premier League Hall of Fame striker Andrew, scored 34 goals in 115 league appearances for the Tykes across three seasons.
Defenders Jordan Williams, 24, and Robbie Cundy, 26, and midfielders Herbie Kane, 25, and Nicky Cadden, 27, have also been released.
The Reds finished sixth in League One this season but lost to Bolton in the play-off semi-finals.
They are without a manager after sacking Neill Collins before the final game of the regular season.
