Defender Toto Nsiala has left League Two club Shrewsbury Town for family reasons.

The 33-year-old joined Town for a second spell in the summer of 2024 from Burton Albion, reuniting him for a fourth time with then- boss Paul Hurst.

He first signed for Shrewsbury in January 2017 from Hartlepool United and went on to help Town finish third in League One, reach the play-off final and EFL Trophy final that season.

Nsiala then followed Hurst to Ipswich before the 2018-19 campaign before going on to have spells with Bolton, Fleetwood and the Brewers.

He made five appearances this season, with his final one in a 2-0 defeat by Harrogate on 20 September.

Shrewsbury have said Nsiala will now take some time away from football.

"I'd like to thank everyone at Shrewsbury Town for some brilliant memories at the club," he said., external

"To be part of a team that finished third in League One and reached two finals at Wembley was an honour."
