Rangers overtook Glasgow City to move within three points of SWPL leaders Hibernian thanks to their 1-0 win over rivals Celtic.

Hibernian's 2-2 draw with City at Meadowbank earlier on Sunday kept Grant Scott's side at the top of the table with six points still to play for.

Kimberley Smit opened the scoring in Edinburgh when she headed in from Hayley Lauder's corner but Eilidh Adams headed Hibs level from a free-kick.

Kathleen McGovern got the hosts' second deep into first-half stoppage time but Nicole Kozlova levelled with her strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Kirsty Howat scored the only goal in Rangers' derby victory at New Douglas Park.

The striker capitalised on a mistake from Celtic captain Kelly Clark, latching onto the ball deep in the opposition half and racing forward to tap home despite pressure from Emma Lawton.

Hearts put six goals past Motherwell, who are yet to pick up a point after the league split.

Kayla Jardine's opener five minutes before the break was added to by an own goal from Motherwell goalkeeper Emily Mutch.

Bayley Hutchison, Sade Adamolekun, Addie Handley and Monica Forsyth scored the rest of the goals for Eva Olid's side.

In the lower half of the table, Montrose's survival hopes were given another boost with a 1-0 victory at Partick Thistle while Spartans beat already-relegated Queen's Park 2-0. Aberdeen thrashed Dundee United 5-0 to move top of the bottom six.
