Burton Albion have signed versatile defender Kyran Lofthouse from League One rivals Barnsley for the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old has featured 25 times for the Tykes this season after making just three appearances for them last term following his move to the Yorkshire club from Woking in 2023.
Much of his first campaign as a Barnsley player was spent out on loan, with a spell in the National League with Gateshead followed by a 23-game stint with MK Dons in League Two.
"He has the ability to play in a variety of positions, which at this stage of the window strengthens your squad and makes it feel bigger," Burton boss Gary Bowyer told the club website., external
"He can play right-wing back, left-wing back, right-sided centre half, and I've even seen him play in midfield for Gateshead so it's a massive asset to have a player of that versatility and we're pleased to have him with us until the end of the season."
Lofthouse's arrival at the Pirelli Stadium comes after the transfer deadline day loan departures of Billy Bodin, Ben Whitfield and Alex Bannon.
