The Football Association of Wales (FAW) wants to honour all the women who played for Wales before the governing body assumed responsibility for the team.

But they have contact details for only 44 of the 94 who did so between 1973 and 1993 and have launched an appeal for contact details for the other 50 before a cap presentation event in October 2024 at which they will be officially honoured.

The FAW says it has record of 27 games played in the 20 years before Wales women became affiliated to the governing body.

The capping presentation will be held at St Fagan’s Museum of History, Cardiff on Friday, 4 October for the pioneering women who played for Wales from 1973-93.
