Williamson comes with global experience having spent many years on the board at Inter Milan.
He has also held roles with DC United and most recently Miami FC in the United States.
"I am delighted to join Wrexham AFC after their impressive back-to-back promotions to League One,” said Williamson.

Club owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds said: “As the fortunes and dreams of Wrexham AFC have grown, so must our club operations.
"He [Williamson] has worn many hats and will continue to wear many more now that his hat will say Wrexham AFC.
"Also, Michael. We’re out of hats," they added, "could you get on that?"
Williamson's UK work visa must be approved before he takes up his role at the Stok Racecourse.
Wrexham hope that process will be successful in the coming months.
