MK Dons boss Paul Warne says the club are in the market for a new left-back after Joe Tomlinson limped off in the early stages of his side's 1-1 draw at Crawley.

Luke Offord's second-half strike grabbed Warne's side a share of the spoils and maintained their unbeaten start to the League Two campaign.

Afterwards the former Derby County head coach confirmed the club are aware of his desire to strengthen at full-back before the transfer window shuts on 1 September.

"My director of football [Liam Sweeting] is waiting for me after this chat," Warne told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"We were looking to bring another full-back into the building anyway [before Tomlinson's injury] because we haven't got loads.

"It sounds like a classic but it sharpens your pencil a little bit. If this had been 1 October, it would have been a bigger issue.

"I'm saying all this, Joe [Tomlinson] might wake up tomorrow and feel amazing and he might be fine by next week, we don't know.

"But it definitely highlights the weakness in our squad."
