Chris Willock is the latest player to be added to Cardiff City's growing list of injuries.
Former QPR winger Willock was forced off the during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at home to Championship leaders Sheffield United.
Manager Omer Riza says it is too early to tell how long the 26-year-old will be sidelined, but he is unlikely to be available for the trip to Oxford United on Thursday, 26 December.
"He [Willock] has hurt his hip-flexor. He just couldn't run," said Riza.
"We have to move forward with what we've got and we have to be ready."
Midfielders Joe Ralls and Callum O'Dowda were absent through injury on Saturday, while defender Perry Ng and winger Ollie Tanner will miss the Oxford game as well.
Those shorter-term injuries are in addition to several longer-term absentees, including Aaron Ramsey, David Turnbull, Kion Etete and Isaak Davies.
Cardiff's defeat against the Blades was their eighth game without a win, leaving the Bluebirds in the Championship's bottom three at Christmas.
