Wales and Wrexham goalkeeper Danny Ward says he is aiming to return to action "around January time" after undergoing surgery on an elbow injury.
Ward began the season as Wrexham's first-choice goalkeeper having signed on a free transfer in July after leaving Leicester City.
But the 32-year-old was carried off with a dislocated elbow in just the fourth league game of the Championship campaign at Millwall in late August.
"It's frustrating but it is what it is," said Ward, who was also knocked unconscious as he fell awkwardly when trying to claim a cross at The Den.
"It's a different role now, you have just got to be supportive of the boys in and around the club and the country and take every day as it comes. I have just got to keep going."
In Ward's absence, Arthur Okonkwo has reclaimed his place in the Wrexham goal having been a regular in Phil Parkinson's team during promotions from League Two and League One.

At international level, Karl Darlow has established himself as Craig Bellamy's number one having previously been competing with Ward for game-time.
Ward, meanwhile, says an image which emerged on social media and appeared to show him ordering fast food on the night of the Millwall game while still wearing his full Wrexham kit was genuine.
"I was looking for a sponsorship deal!" he said.
"It was a strange day, a long day. I'd been through the ringer. [We got] a little bit of food and we were on our way."
