Portsmouth have signed midfielder Abdoulaye Kamara from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old, from Guinea, joins on a four-year deal but is yet to make a senior league appearance.
Kamara started his career at Paris St-Germain but only played in a friendly for the first team before leaving France in July 2021 to join Dortmund, where he was a mainstay in the reserves.
“We think he’s ready for Championship football and can really kick-start his career with us,” said head coach John Mousinho.
“He’s a powerful and combative midfielder who can handle the ball well – he’s right up there in terms of his athleticism and game understanding.”
Kamara becomes Pompey's 10th signing of the summer after Mousinho said they were "far from done" in the transfer window.
His side have so far drawn with Leeds United and Luton Town on their return to the Championship after an absence of 12 seasons.
Portsmouth return to league action at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
