Carlos leaves Villa to join Fenerbahce

Diego Carlos made 136 appearances for Sevilla and scored six goals before signing for Aston Villa in 2022

Turkish side Fenerbahce have signed centre-back Diego Carlos from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.

The Brazilian, who joined Villa from Sevilla in 2022, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The Turkish club are reportedly paying 10m euros (£8.45m) for the 31-year-old.

Villa said they would "like to wish Diego good luck in his new professional chapter".

Carlos made 58 appearances for Villa and scored one goal. He has not been involved in the club's past five games.

Fenerbahce - managed by Jose Mourinho - are second in the Turkish Super Lig, six points behind leaders Galatasaray.
