Arsenal are set to make teenage forward Ethan Nwaneri a formal offer of a new contract.
Talks over fresh terms are set to accelerate in the coming days amid a will from all parties to reach an agreement.
BBC Sport understands the offer will be a new five-year deal, or four with the option of a further year.
The 18-year-old academy graduate's existing deal expires at the end of next season.
While there has not been a definitive breakthrough, there is growing hope a deal can be reached with negotiations reaching an advanced stage.
England Under-21 international Nwaneri made 37 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions last season, scoring nine goals.
